After we receive your application, we’ll determine if an interview is the next step. If you’re selected for an interview, the hiring department or a talent acquisition specialist will contact you.

The hiring manager will select the final candidate and request the Talent Acquisition Specialist to extend an offer. You will receive the electronic offer letter online through your Workday account. Please accept your offer online.
COVID Vaccinations and Boosters
Following guidance from both the state and federal regulators, Sharp HealthCare will no longer require employees to receive a COVID-19 booster at this time. All employees are required to complete a primary series. -
After you’ve accepted your job offer, you’ll need to go through a few more steps, including:
- Background check.
- Post-offer employment physical.
- You are required to complete a urine drug screen as part of the post-offer employment.
- You are required to take a TB test.
- Verification of current/previous employment.
- Complete I-9 Form online.
- Verify all licensures/certifications/degrees required for the position.
- Complete all new hire paperwork.
- Meet with an HR specialist for verification of I-9. (SRN employees will also meet with an SRN representative at this time.)
- Once all the onboarding tasks have been completed and clearances have been received, your New Employee Orientation will be scheduled.

Your first day of employment will be at New Employee Orientation, held every Monday and Wednesday virtually. You will be provided a link once you have completed the onboarding process.
In addition to the system wide orientation, you may be required to participate in an entity-based orientation and/or EPIC training. The entities with orientations include: Sharp Rees-Stealy, Sharp Grossmont, Sharp Coronado and Sharp Metropolitan Campus.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Sharp HealthCare follows the Drug-Free Workplace Act. After an offer is extended to a qualified candidate, the candidate is required to complete a urine drug screen. To learn more about the drug screening testing process, read our Post-Offer Drug Screen Frequently Asked Questions.

Employee referral bonus
Specific positions offer referring employees a cash employee referral bonus. If eligible, the referring employee will receive the referral bonus specified once the new employee has been employed with Sharp for 90 days.
Employee referral drawing
All employees that refer a potential new employee are eligible to enter a quarterly employee referral drawing. Once the referred candidate has been employed with Sharp for 90 days, the referring employee will be eligible to win exciting prizes.
All current Sharp HealthCare employees are eligible for the Employee Referral Program except for supervisors and above, physicians and human resources employees.
