Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$23.000 - $23.000 - $26.777


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.


What You Will Do
Provide support to the Surgical Service Department by coordinating and accomplishing all activities, functions, and responsibilities related, and not limited to, the general cleaning and maintenance of the O.R. and PACU in accordance with the established methods and techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 Year Janitorial experience or six months janitorial experience in a hospital or acute care facility
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent


Essential Functions

  • Cleaning
    Utilizes correct cleaning solutions and dilutions according to established standards.
    Assures all solution containers, all sharp containers, Biohazard bins, and red bags are labeled according to Sharp Healthcare protocol.
    Completes routine cleaning in locker rooms, staff lounge, and snack room.
    Maintains optimum appearance of lounges, locker rooms, and restrooms, and other related areas within the Surgical Services Department.
    Removes refuse, recycling containers, and/or soiled linen from all areas within the department, per department specifications.
    Cleans, stocks, and maintains appearance of scrub sink areas.
    Completes cleaning of all offices within the Surgical Services Department as assigned.
    Completes daily terminal cleaning of the O.R. suites following established procedure.
    Performs terminal cleaning of patient stations within PACU.
    Completes cleaning and stocking of O.R. Suites between surgical procedures in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Patient care
    Transports patients to the Surgical Services Department in a safe, efficient manner.
    Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specific patient considerations regarding, and not limited to, patient's age, patient's cultural beliefs and values, skin integrity, safety, pain, comfort, and surgical needs.
    Respects the patient's right to privacy and confidentiality of information through all aspects of patient care.
    Reviews patient's pre-operative checklist to ensure completeness prior to transport to the Surgical Patient Hold Room.
    Remains in Patient Hold Room when patients are awaiting surgical procedures and observes and attends to their needs.
    Confirms patient identification bracelet with the patient and with the patient's hospital chart.
    Procures supplies and equipment under the direction of licensed operating room personnel.
    Delivers unopened, non-controlled drugs and I.V.'s to the Surgical Services Arena under the direction and/or supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
  • Supplies and equipment
    Maintains supplies of paper goods, soaps, cleaning fluids, and other materials necessary to the operations of the department for areas of responsibility.
    Continually restocks and rotates issued supplies and materials within the department.
    Supplies all the surgical solution warmers with indicated items and solutions, dating and rotating all solutions per hospital policy.
    Transport supplies and equipment when required.
    Obtains and delivers unopened, non-controlled drugs and I.V.'s to the Surgical Services Arena under the direction and/or supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
    Maintains cleaning equipment to ensure safe working conditions.
