$75.458 - $97.365 - $119.272The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

8-hour, Day shift; 7:00 am – 7:30 pm including every other weekend
This is full-time position, (1.0): 80 hours/per pay period
Some mandatory meetings outside these hours, typically during regular business hours.
What You Will Do
Provide direct supervision of and 24-hour responsibility for personnel and assure the quality of clinical nursing care of ED patients. This position has responsibility for the coordination of care for patients and families in the Emergency Department. Responsibility includes planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating staff and care activities in Emergency Department to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective patient care. The position is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining the resources necessary on a specific shift daily, weekly, and monthly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 5 Years ED clinical nursing experience, one year of which shall have been in a leadership role.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) -PREFERRED
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Various-Employee provides certificate -PREFERRED
Other Qualification Requirements
- NIHSS is required within 90 days of hire.

Identifies and develops action plan to resolve quality issues in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Specialist and other interdisciplinary care team members.
Identifies clinical learning needs and implements plan to assure learning achieved.
Implements systems to inform / monitor staff compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Achieves / Maintains specialty certification in clinical area of practice.
Participates in the evaluation of data that is pertinent to patient care outcomes including quality variance reports.
