$41.432 - $53.460 - $65.489The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
This position is responsible for the alignment of physician growth within the hospital system and marketing strategies in support of hospital and medical group objectives. Responsible for strategies that drive incremental volume from Sharp HealthCare affiliated physicians and strategies that retain volume. The position is accountable for lead generation; implementation of quantifiable marketing and sales strategies to gain volume from unaffiliated physicians; coordination with all other sales and marketing staff; use of tracking mechanisms; and achievement of growth objectives. Serves as a liaison between physicians and hospital leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or in a health care related field.
- 5 Years direct sales experience in the medical or related field. Highly skilled in sales, physician relations, contracting, customer service, marketing and business development strategies.
Essential Functions
- Direct Sales
Analyze market data, qualitative data, and physician volume reports to develop a lead generation system to strategically identify targets.
Gain market intelligence regarding other organizations and their strategies to increase profitability.
Generate and complete targeted number of calls on targeted physicians per month.
Communicate regularly with physician offices to assess physician satisfaction with programs and services offered.
Establish monthly and quarterly marketing action plans in identifying referral patterns, opportunities for growth and retention of current referrals. - Education and Quality
Facilitate and participate in educational opportunities for physicians and staff by hosting events related to hospital services/programs and health care in general.
Participate in the design and assist with the development of collateral materials.
Participate in measuring the effectiveness of and/or customer satisfaction of all department initiatives. - Physician Relations
Increase referrals to Sharp facilities from primary care and specialist physicians. Provide customer service, educate physicians on system services and ensure physician satisfaction via resolution of issues.
Work directly with the hospital CEO's and medical groups to establish relationships with key physicians and increase their visibility.
Assist with the development and implementation of plans for successful retention, recruitment and succession planning.
Work with department team to investigate leads for physician/practice recruitment and practice management.
Participate in the development and implementation of transition plans for new practices to ensure smooth implementation of project and retention of the practice and/or enrolled lives.
Provide direction to individual physician offices countywide to assist with space sharing options, practice development/management and staffing needs.
Develop and deploy community events with physicians and business partners.
Serve as a liaison between physicians and Sharp hospital teams.
Evaluate and create physician databases and update web interface as needed. - Physician Satisfaction
Achieve overall hospital physician satisfaction scores as defined by each entity. - Strategy Development
Participates in the development of the assigned entity's strategic plans.
Assist with the development of programs and services to influence physician admissions at Sharp Healthcare facilities. Coordinate with hospital CEO's, medical groups and leadership teams in identifying key physician issues and creating solutions to influence referrals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have demonstrated ability to sell and service physicians and hospital management.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct, effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and successfully interface with support teams.
- Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of managed care operations, hospital and physician practice operations and physician issues mandatory.
