$35.665 - $46.019 - $56.374The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
The Hispanic Marketing Senior Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of an overall strategy to drive market share growth for Sharp in San Diego County's Hispanic community. Reporting directly to the Vice President of PR & Communications, the Senior Specialist works with the System Public Relations, Advertising and Digital departments, all Sharp entities and outside vendors to accomplish this goal. The Senior Specialist also fosters relationships with Hispanic community organizations and builds effective working partnerships to promote health care education across all socioeconomic groups as part of Sharp's community outreach. The position also serves as supervisor for the Hispanic Marketing Intern and is responsible for training, providing leadership, assigning projects and monitoring of that position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or related field.
- 5 Years marketing, public relations and community relations experience.
- Multicultural experience with Hispanic population through work or formal education.
Essential Functions
- Community relations
Develops outreach strategies and community relations marketing plan.
Identifies and builds effective community partnerships to promote Sharp HealthCare and community health education.
Identifies potential sponsorship opportunities.
Plans and organizes community events, or Sharp's presence at community events, local health fairs, educational seminars on health topics of interest and other local events that meet the department's goals.
Interfaces regularly with management, department heads, volunteers and members of the community.
Represents Sharp HealthCare to the community and on various local community boards and committees. - Marketing
Research and identify marketing strategies to reach San Diego's Hispanic population.
Work with System and Entity Marketing leads to develop and implement the overall marketing plan, including advertising, digital marketing, public and community relations.
Work with the Digital Marketing team to develop and maintain strategic Spanish-language web content.
Responsible for managing Spanish-language social media sites, such as Facebook, to promote Sharp HealthCare, as well as creation and distribution of a bi-monthly Spanish-language electronic newsletter. - Media relations
Responsible for managing media relations with the Spanish-language media, including developing relations with key players at local and cross-border media, pitching stories and press releases, and, on occasion, serving as spokesperson.
Provides overall support for the entities with the Spanish-language media. - Supervisory duties
Serves as supervisor to the Hispanic Community Relations Intern.
Trains the intern upon hire and provides on-going training as needed.
Relays information regarding system wide policies, behavior standards, etc.
Assigns and monitors work projects.
Provides overall evaluation of intern for academic purposes and serves as contact for professors, intern coordinators, etc. - Translations
Provides limited support to the translation services program for the Sharp System.
Screens and processes all translation requests received by Digital Marketing team and supports translation requests from Creative Services.
Provides recommendations and guidance on translation procedures and assists System translation services program in drafting policy on those procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Spanish language proficiency is required (written and spoken).
- Problem solving and customer service skills to facilitate community involvement.
